2014 Outlook

Offense – The Panthers offense took big steps forward in their second year back with a soccer program. The Panthers were fast and quick and explosive at times. The question this year is whether the offensive success will occur on a consistent basis. Much of the success of the offense will depend on junior James Segalla.

Defense – The Panthers face some uncertainty as well on defense. Some starters have graduated including clutch goalkeeper Bo Piersol. Whether defensive replacements can be found will determine the season. The Panthers do have solid players and should be even more comfortable in Kimberley’s third season.

Final Evaluation – The Panthers had an impressive 2013, winning 11 games, and being competitive in most matches. They ultimately fell short against top-level opponents. If all things fall to the Panthers ways, this team could equal last seasons success and contend for a league title. But if Segalla and the offense struggles and the defense feels the crunch from graduations, the success of last season could be the ceiling again.
